- Although tolerant of sun, foxgloves do best in partial shade – perfect therefore for the woodland garden, giving both height and colour.
- Spires of tubular, purple flowers with spotted throats are produced in early summer. A British native.
- Used by the Lesser Yellow Underwing, Angle Shades and Setaceous Hebrew Character Moth as a caterpillar food plant.
- Excellent bee and bumblebee plant.
