  • Fragrant rose-pink to dark crimson flowers from late spring to late summer make red valerian a familiar sight on stone walls.
  • Once established, this plant will readily self-seed.
  • Excellent butterfly nectar plant.
  • White cultivars attract Hawk Moths such as the Hummingbird Hawk Moth. Other moths attracted to the nectar include Burnished Brass and Yellow Shell.
